Snezana’s influence extends far beyond her writings. She has played a vital role in promoting the learning of mathematics through her involvement with various national and international organisations. She was the Chair of History and Pedagogy of Mathematics International Study Group 2020-24; the first Education Officer of the British Society for the History of Mathematics and served on its Council for many years. Currently, she is the Assistant Editor of the British Journal for the History of Mathematics, where she oversees submissions on the history of mathematics in education. She also advises the University of Aveiro (since 2023) in their research policy and practice in relation to the history of mathematics, and was a founding member of the Logic and Religion Association (LARA). Her contributions to the redesign of the National Curriculum in Mathematics have brought a richer appreciation of mathematics into everyday teaching in the UK.
Born in Belgrade, capital of Serbia, then part of Yugoslavia, Snezana’s journey to the UK began at the outbreak of civil wars in her homeland. Now happily settled in Cambridgeshire, she enjoys a life filled with swimming, cycling, and creating geometrical drawings and blue-hued canvases. But above all, Snezana is devoted to her daughter and grandchildren. She cherishes her friendships across the globe and loves hosting friends in her charming riverside home.
